Alert : Delhi Obama Visit Proof: CWG Terror plan foiled

Again our anticipations come true when a plot of massive terror attacks at Commonwealth Venues foiled, the Al-Quida and LeT prepared this plan. Al Qaeda, LeT planned to attack CWG venues on Oct 12-13

New Delhi, Oct 15 (PTI) Al Qaeda and Lashkar-e-Taiba had planned to attack some venues of the just-concluded Commonwealth Games on October 12 and 13, prompting the government to put in place a four-layer security arrangement in the last three days of the sporting extravaganza.

Besides this, in a bid to destroy the highly-secured security structure put in place by India, hundreds of cyber attacks were carried out, which were suspected to be originating from China, to penetrate the computerised system and servers during the Games fortnight.

A Western intelligence agency had tipped off the government on October 10 that al Qaeda and LeT militants, trained along the Afghan-Pakistan borders, would try to attack a few venues and a hotel, government sources said.

Alarmed by the input, the government enhanced the security of the Games venues and Village from three layers to four and brought in additional forces, including heavily-armed commandos, to foil any attempt of sabotage even from air.

Two foreigners injured in firing near Jama Masjid in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Raising security concerns ahead of the Commonwealth Games, two men on a motorbike fired several rounds on a tourist vehicle near the historic Jama Masjid in the walled city, injuring two Taiwanese nationals.

A red alert has been sounded across the capital after the incident in which the two bikers are said to have fired 7-8 rounds on the stationary vehicle adjacent to gate number three of the mosque and 100 metres away from the house of Shahi Imam Ahmed Bukhari at around 11.30 am.

Naxals kill 4 cops in Gadchiroli

Four security personnel were on Monday killed when a powerful explosive was triggered allegedly by Naxalites at at a marketplace in Perimili village in Gadchiroli’s Bhamragarh tehsil.

Another blast in Gadchiroli, six policemen injured

A day after four policemen were killed in a blast here, six more policemen were injured on Tuesday when Naxals ambushed the additional security forces that were sent to the area. The incident took place in the morning, just 15 kilometres from the village.
